Does your Skin want a Divorce?

I don’t think anyone stops and thinks about the fact that our skin is our body’s largest organ
and the secondmost complex organ next to the brain. Your skin loves you; it helps regulate
and protect your whole body; and takes the best care of you it can. Do you nurture this love
or torture this love? Do you respect and cherish it, or do you just take, take, take? I hope for
your skin’s sake you realize that you and your skin are relationship partners until the end. You
only get one chance to make it work. Sure the relationship has and will change over the years,
but like any power couple you can adjust and overcome each of life’s obstacles together.

If you give to your skin what it needs and craves it will provide you with eternal youth and
beauty beyond compare. The health of this relationship is the result of the life style choices
we make. When we do not making healthy decisions, our skin, like any scorned lover, will
act out accordingly. Anything we notice on the outside of our skin such as sun damage, acne,
dry lack luster skin, are all caused or effecting our body internally. Believe it or not, skin
conditions caused internally are much easier to correct, then the external skin manifestations
triggered by the environment.

When our relationship with our skin changes, we often jump to rash decisions. We begin
thinking about expensive products, infomercials, overnight “cures,” our friend’s advice, or
drugstore finds. These products honestly may work for you. However, more people find these
products tucked away in a dark cabinet never to be seen again like love letters from an ex.
Using products that are not ph balanced, harsh, or abrasive will result in more skin damage
then when you started. Love should never burn, but be soothing, nurturing, and kind.

Any relationship in danger should seek counseling! To truly understand your skin’s individual needs,
I recommend you to seek advice from a skincare therapist. At
SHINE Skin and Body Care Studio
we offer complimentary skin and product analysis by appointment. Bring in your cosmetics, lotions,
and potions if you are unhappy with your skin’s appearance, homecare regime, or if you want to be
sure that your products are right for you. When people think of getting a facial or a body treatment
they think Relaxation. In reality people should be thinking wellness.
